Who are we?
I've been a modeller since I could hold a tube of glue. Every genre from railways, aircraft, military vehicles and figures...and war gaming.
We all share a common problem - collecting and hoarding all those kits and things associated with any type of modelling. A kit-cave, the specialist man-cave we all disappear away to for many hours.
Some years back, I'd been pondering an online model store for a while. Then, at a railway exhibition, I met Steve Bennett.
Now a good friend, Steve produced a niche range of mining and industrial resin cast products. Before long Pepper7 was born. It went on to become a successful online store selling his products, and Avalon line products which he also cast to high standards. In a very short time, we were also selling a large range of difficult to find or hard to source items, many imported from the massive catalogue of Walthers in the US or elsewhere from abroad.
Pepper7 was almost too successful and we eventually closed the site.
However, the stock we had has been stored for a little while and still needs to be moved to new homes where it will be appreciated and enhance layouts or dioramas. Hence...
...and then
The original shop stock is brand new direct from our distributors.
However, it coincides with the acquisition of another large collection of new and pre-loved items from a couple of other modellers.
The cupboards are bursting. A superb steel works layout is bursting with kits and lovely items that must move on. Another modellers cupboards are bursting with gems. Lots of items of nearly new and unused items added to the stock from the shop. Everything from the brand new packaged products through well made kits ready to place proudly on your own layout, to less well made items or even bits of broken kit that will become a masterpiece with a little imagination and modelling skill.
It reminded me of the now gone Beatties in Holborn, London (and other locations I think). A massive model shop where I dragged my mother at times, only to be dragged away after spending (for me) insufficient time sorting through the second-hand bins to buy kits and bits.
Ironically, the best solution to reduce all the stock we have is...another online store.
